DIY Vitamin Gummies

DIY Vitamin Gummies

It’s been a while since my last post as I was busy growing a little human, and I realized I have a huge backlog of recipes that I’ve been meaning to post. This recipe does the trick since you’ll get a healthy dose of vitamins and have an excuse to eat gummies! I recommend buying the little bear molds from Amazon (buy them here), but you can also use chocolate molds, silicone cupcake molds or any other mold you like and then just cut them up smaller if you prefer. Just make sure to put them in silicone so you can easily pop them out when finished. Be careful not to overheat the honey as you don’t want to ‘cook’ away the healthy benefits of raw honey! And while not the easiest thing in the world to make, they are fun and the best part is that you can use what fruit you prefer (the possibilities really are endless!).

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of fruit puree (try strawberries, peaches, pineapple, or any other fruit of your choice blended on high-speed in a Vitamix!)

  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice

  • 7 tbsp of grass-fed gelatin

  • 4 tbsp of raw honey

Instructions:

  1. Combine fruit puree, honey and lemon juice over low heat in saucepan

  2. Stir ingredients until warm so as to not kill the natural probiotics in the honey

  3. Add the gelatin and immediately mix with an immersion blender until lump free

  4. Pour the mixture into molds and place into the freezer for at least 30 minutes until solid

  5. When finished pop the gelatin shapes out of the molds and store in the fridge for a week or in the freezer for a few months

  6. Enjoy!
